Greener Shades Dye Stock Floaties!

I keep all of my dye stocks refrigerated. They’ve kept for at least 6 months.

I took out the yellow dye stock that has been sitting in the fridge for maybe 6 months. The stock was cold and looked almost congealed. When I shook the jar this dissipated a bit, and then only looked to have sulpher floating in it. (If you’ve even been to a mineral spring, you know what I mean.) As you can see on the scale there is what looks kind of like phlem floating around in the dye stock. sulpher?
I poured this into a random amount of warm tap water and the previously undissolved balls of dye reappeared. I used an immersion blender to break these up, which creates the foam you see on the top of the cup. At this point the dye stock now acts as it would if I had just created the stock solution today.
yellow

I know my color is not a true yellow as the color was contaminated but because this is just a test I didn’t care too much about the color. You can see the yellow has dissolved into the water and this picture was taken just before I added more colors to the pot to darken the sock. All the color did exhaust from the pot.

I believe if you have something floating in your Greener Shades dye stock, and you've kept them refrigerated. Not to worry, just warm them up and they should return to normal.
